Anonymous: I'm a little confused, so I hope you can clear this up. Is the Major Victory from Guardians 3000 the same one from the 2008 Guardians of the Galaxy series? If not, what happened to him?

No. They are divergent versions of the same individual. Years ago, Major Victory came back in time and changed his own past, activating his powers in his younger self early and thus changing his own history. So the present day Vance Astro is a different character.
